Australia’s most Sustainable Community announced

Keep Australia Beautiful has announced the winners of the 2020 Australian Sustainable Communities -Tidy Towns Awards. Running nationally since 1990, the Australian Sustainable Communities - Tidy Towns Awards have evolved to encompass projects and initiatives with a focus on environmental sustainability and resource management to reflect a growing awareness of the importance of community-led environmental action. Murrurundi named this year’s Most Sustainable Community

The winner of the iconic Keep Australia Beautiful NSW Sustainable Communities – Tidy Towns Awards for 2019 was announced on Saturday 2 November 2019, during a dinner in Cessnock, NSW. The Keep Australia Beautiful NSW (KABNSW) 2019 Overall Sustainable Communities – Tidy Towns Award was presented to Murrurundi, qualifying the town to represent NSW in the Keep Australia Beautiful Australian Sustainable Communities – Tidy Towns Awards. Cumberland Council named this year’s most Sustainable City

The winner of the prestigious Keep Australia Beautiful NSW 2019 Sustainable Cities Awards was announced on Thursday 17 October 2019. The Overall 2019 Sustainable Cities Award was presented to Cumberland Council. Cumberland Council was also the winner of the Habitat and Wildlife Conservation Award and the Community Spirit and Inclusion Award and was Highly Commended in the Waste Less, Recycle More – Waste Minimisation Award, which is proudly supported by the NSW Environment Protection Authority (NSW EPA).
