Northern Beaches named NSW Sustainable City for 2020

The winner of the prestigious Keep Australia Beautiful NSW 2020 Sustainable Cities Awards was announced on Thursday 12 November 2020. The Overall 2020 Sustainable Cities Award was presented to Northern Beaches Council by Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC, Governor of New South Wales. Keep Australia Beautiful has announced the winners of the 2020 Australian Sustainable Communities -Tidy Towns Awards. Running nationally since 1990, the Australian Sustainable Communities - Tidy Towns Awards have evolved to encompass projects and initiatives with a focus on environmental sustainability and resource management to reflect a growing awareness of the importance of community-led environmental action. Murrurundi named this year’s Most Sustainable Community

The winner of the iconic Keep Australia Beautiful NSW Sustainable Communities – Tidy Towns Awards for 2019 was announced on Saturday 2 November 2019, during a dinner in Cessnock, NSW. The Keep Australia Beautiful NSW (KABNSW) 2019 Overall Sustainable Communities – Tidy Towns Award was presented to Murrurundi, qualifying the town to represent NSW in the Keep Australia Beautiful Australian Sustainable Communities – Tidy Towns Awards.
