EnviroMentors (formally known as Waste Watchers) Logo Design Competition Guidelines
In 2012 Keep Australia Beautiful NSW will be re-launching its highly successful Waste Watchers environmental education program. Waste Watchers has expanded significantly over the last decade and now includes topics such as sustainability, water and catchments; it is no longer just about waste education. Therefore, our program’s name and logo are changing to reflect this. EnviroMentors has been chosen as the new name for the program, so we are currently in search of a new logo.
Keep Australia Beautiful NSW is inviting all NSW schools to submit designs for the new EnviroMentors logo. The current logo is of planet Earth overflowing with garbage, which no longer accurately describes the program’s purpose.
The EnviroMentors program will aim to empower participants with environmental knowledge, skills and values to educate and influence their families and encourage them to implement best practice in their homes and community.
Logo Design Criteria
The new logo must:
- In some way reflect the importance of educating Australians about current environmental issues.
- Not identify just one particular environmental concern, but encompass all aspects of the environment.
- Be clear and easy to identify when reproduced in large and small formats e.g. letterheads.
Logos can be submitted electronically or as a hard copy. The successful design will be reproduced in an electronic format.
We also request that you provide a brief, 100 word explanation about your design. Please include the rationale behind your design and how it relates to the aims of the EnviroMentors program.
Who can enter?
All NSW schools are eligible to enter even if your school has never participated in the Waste Watchers program before. Individuals may enter or a school may choose to submit finalists from their own internal competition. The competition is open to students from year 3 to 6.
Entries will not be returned and will remain the property of Keep Australia Beautiful NSW, which reserves the right to use the winning submission for media and branding purposes. You will only be notified if you are successful.
What is the prize?
The prize is a Family Pass (includes 2 Adults and 2 Children 6-16yrs) to the Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk. You and your school will be acknowledged as the creator of the new logo during the relaunch (this includes all relevant media). The winning logo will be used from 2012 onwards as the new logo for the EnviroMentors program.
When does it close?
Closing date is 29th April 2011. Entries can be either emailed to
