Peter McLean

Peter grew up next to a national park and his enjoyment of the natural environment instilled him with a strong sense of environmental awareness. His past roles have included working with National Parks and in environmental education at Warringah Council. He arrived at Keep Australia Beautiful NSW in 2004 and managed litter reduction campaigns and audits, as well as Clean Beach Challenge, Sustainable Cities and Tidy Towns, before becoming CEO in 2007. He holds a degree in Environmental Management (UWS Hawkesbury), and Certificates in Bush Regeneration and Business Governance. He is currently completing an MBA at UTS majoring in Community Management and Project Management.

Phil Kelly

Phil graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Agriculture) from Hawkesbury Agricultural College in 1985 and began a career in agriculture. He worked in Queensland for a decade advising farmers and working in marketing, sales and cropping. He also managed his own rural consultancy business and was one of the first four environmental auditors trained in Australia to audit the cotton industry. Phil was actively involved with local communities when living in regional Australia and developed a love of the environment and people within it. Phil has completed Certificate 2 Bush Regeneration at Wentworth Falls TAFE and is currently completing a Masters in Social Ecology at UWS.

Chris Bell

Chris joined Keep Australia Beautiful after holding senior management positions for over 25 years in investment banking. Chris' increasing voluntary commitments in environmental roles led to a decision to retire from investment banking and making a full time commitment to 'do his bit' towards helping the environment. Being a keen surfer, Captain of Manly Life Saving Club and also a geographer, Chris recognises the population and climate change implications on all coastal communities.
Chris holds a degree majoring in Geography, has a Graduate Diploma in Education from Macquarie University, is an accredited Geography and Economics teacher and holds a Diploma in Finance.

Peta Golla

In 2001, Peta graduated from UNE (Armidale) with a Bachelor of Education concentrating on the environment and behavior management. She completed a Master of Environmental Management at UWS (Hawkesbury) in 2003 with a focus on soil and water quality. Following completion of her Masters, Peta traveled to China with staff from the UWS, ICEM Research group. She contributed to a research initiative, the China Higher Education Strategic Initiative. Her work was published in China and she was invited to lecture at a national conference. On her return to Australia, Peta worked with environmental consultants specialising in wetlands and waterways. She joined Keep Australia Beautiful NSW in 2004 as an Environmental Education Officer. |
Danielle Fogerty

In 2008, Danielle graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Human Geography. Her thesis was on ‘Community Involvement in Local Government Sustainability Plans and Projects’, as she has a personal passion about local responses to global issues. In 2009 she completed her Postgraduate Diploma of Education at Macquarie University and casually taught high school Geography, Society and Culture, Commerce and Economics at high schools on Sydney’s North Shore until early 2010. In April 2010 she joined Keep Australia Beautiful NSW as an Environmental Education Officer. She is now also undertaking a Masters of Environmental and Business Management at the University of Newcastle. Outside of work, she volunteers in her local community through Rotary, with their Rotaract and RYLA programs for young community and business leaders. |
Peter Fox

Graduating from Wollongong University with a Bachelor of Environmental Science (Honours), Peter has built on a love of the environment which he developed whilst growing up in the Blue Mountains. Peter has spent some time teaching high school science, working as a teacher of Outdoor Education in the United States, coaching sporting teams in a professional capacity and working as an Environmental Education Officer in Local Government.
Peter has recently joined Keep Australia Beautiful and is looking forward to the opportunities that EnviroMentors will present. |

Alyson Lyne

Alyson arrived at Keep Australia Beautiful NSW in 2009. After a childhood of living in the Blue Mountains, Alyson had the desire to expand her understanding of the natural environment through formal education. Alyson completed a Health Science degree in 2007 and went on to obtain her Master of Teaching (Primary) from the University of Western Sydney in 2008. As an EnviroMentors educator for Keep Australia Beautiful NSW, Alyson particularly enjoys the variety of teaching in a wide range of schools and to a diversity of student demographics as well as the experience of networking with the various school communities and councils throughout NSW. Alyson’s primary passion is to expand the knowledge of NSW children about their precious environment and how they can sustain a future for themselves and their own children.
Alyson is currently on maternity leave and will return April 2012. |
Natalie McCready

Natalie has been with Keep Australia Beautiful since 2008. After completing a Bachelor of Arts (biology) and Graduate Diploma of Education from Macquarie University Natalie spent some time teaching high school science and travelling overseas. She has taught environmental education in the USA and now loves the opportunity EnviroMentors gives her to travel across NSW sharing with primary school students her passion for the environment. |
Jacqueline Murray

Jacqui’s love of nature and interest in the environment has been fostered by growing up in regional NSW and traveling throughout Australia and overseas. Having initially trained as a Drama teacher, Jacqui has taught in primary, high school and adult education environments. As an Environmental Education Officer, Jacqui enjoys the opportunity to interact with a wide variety of people in regional and metro communities about environmental issues. She believes that looking after our environment is an innate human quality, and through education and awareness raising all members of the community can make a difference. Jacqui is currently studying a Masters of Environmental Management with Charles Sturt University. |
Carolyn Oakley

Carolyn joined the team at Keep Australia Beautiful in September 2011 and specialises in marketing and communications for the not-for-profit sector. She worked on the 1999/2000 rebrand and National launch of Mission Australia, the rebrand of WorkVentures in 2005 and has developed web and interactive content for ABC Kids, ING and WorkVentures. She has also delivered publications and integrated campaigns for a range of corporate and not-for-profit organisations. From Orange, NSW, she is passionate about the protection of natural assets and the ethical responsibilities of government, business and the individual. Carolyn enjoys growing her own organic vegetables, recycles everything from clothes to paddle pop sticks, and is raising two free-range little boys.

Alejandra Torres

Ale joined the Keep Australia Beautiful NSW team in February 2011. She is very passionate about the environment and enjoys raising awareness on environmental issues. Her previous roles involved developing and facilitating environmental education workshops and activities for schools, community members and government staff from New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Her areas of work included native and invasive species, stormwater pollution, waste and restoration of bushland areas. Ale believes educating young students about environmental issues is one of the best tools we have to protect the environment. She holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering (PUC, Chile) and a Masters in Environmental Science (Macquarie University, Australia).
