Litter Reduction Campaign Educator Positions:
Employment Type = Casual
Employment Duration = Between 11-56 hours per educator
Rate of Pay = $24.00 per hour
Keep Australia Beautiful NSW has partnered with a number of organisations to deliver a cigarette butt littering reduction campaign in the Parramatta CBD from 17th to 21st May 2010. As part of the education and promotions, this campaign requires face to face education staff to deliver key messages and information to smokers. This will involve approaching members of the public in the street, monitoring collecting public pledges to responsibly dispose of cigarette butts and manning an information desk.
Selection Criteria
- Very strong demonstrated competence and application of the English language.
- Experience with promotional, sales and/or funding raising.
- Demonstrated ability to approach and engage members of the public who may be trying to avoid them and ability to convince people to stop what they're doing and engage in conversation.
- An existing outgoing and confident personality type and the ability to be non confrontational and friendly.
- Ability to persuade and negotiate with people.
- Demonstrated experience in any type of education or engagement activity (optional).
- Must be available on the following dates and times.
o Friday 14th May 10:00am to 12:00pm for training (paid)
o Monday 17th May 7:30am to 1:30pm (offered to all educators)
o Monday 17th to Friday 21st May 12:00pm-4:00pm (offered to two educators)
o Monday 10th and Monday 24th May 6 hours per day (offered to two educators)
