Keep Australia Beautiful NSW would like to thank their valuable partners, without their support many of our important programs wouldn’t exist. Please support them as they have supported us.

The Heritage Branch (formerly Heritage Office), Department of Planning, is a State government agency based in Parramatta, New South Wales, Australia.

The mission of the Heritage Branch is "working with the community to know, value and care for our heritage".

Heritage is evidence of our history. Conserving our heritage helps us to understand our past, and to contribute to the lives of future generations. It gives us a sense of continuity and belonging to the place where we live.

The work of the Heritage Branch is guided by the Heritage Council of NSW, a body appointed by The Hon. Frank Sartor MP, Minister responsible for heritage in NSW, to reflect a cross-section of community, government and conservation expertise.

The Packaging Stewardship Forum was established in May 2006 as a forum of the Australian Food and Grocery Council. Its focus is on providing cost-effective resource recovery and litter reduction solutions that deliver real and measurable outcomes.

The Forum’s highly successful Do The Right Thing anti-litter campaign has proven to be the strongest litter prevention message since it was implemented, leading to a 70% reduction in litter in NSW between 1979 and 1990. Today Do The Right Thing is stronger than ever, with more than 80% of people recognising that Do The Right Thing means put your waste in the bin.

The Forum is also a major sponsor of Keep Australia Beautiful nationally, sponsoring Tidy Towns and Sustainable Communities Awards in every state during 2007-08.

The Packaging Stewardship Forum is a category partner of the Do the Right Thing Waste Management Award in the Keep Australia Beautiful NSW Tidy Towns and Sustainable Cities Awards.

The Alcoa Australia Rolled Products plant at Yennora is home to the largest aluminium recycling facility in Australia.  This facility recycles around 70,000 tonnes of scrap aluminium per year including over half a billion cans.

Aluminium is 100 per cent recyclable with no loss of quality, and the recycling process uses only 5 per cent of the energy needed to make new metal from scratch providing significant greenhouse benefits and diverting waste from landfill.

Aluminium is endlessly recyclable, and it is estimated that nearly three-quarters of all aluminium ever made since 1886 remains in use today.

Through the commitment of its people, use of technology, monitoring programs and projects such as waste minimisation, cleaner production and water conservation initiatives, Alcoa Yennora is committed to environmental sustainability.

We are proud of our seven year partnership with Keep Australia Beautiful and commend them for the valuable contribution they make to supporting and acknowledging community efforts to improve local environments.

Alcoa’s Australian operations make up an integrated aluminium industry which includes mines, refineries, smelters, rolled products plants and a recycling operation - adding value to Australia’s resources at every stage.

Alcoa of Australia operates the mines, refineries and smelters while Alcoa Australia Rolled Products operates the rolled products plants. Together, these two businesses directly employ around 6280 people plus another 1500 contractors, predominantly in regional Australia.

Established in 1952, the Alcoa Foundation is a global resource that actively invests in improving the quality of life in more than 32 countries around the world where Alcoa operates. In Australia, the Alcoa Foundation strengthens the capacities of individuals and communities by providing skills, expertise and financial support for local communities.

Do you know what happens to your printer cartridges when they are thrown in the bin? They more than likely end up in landfill taking up to 450 years to break down.

The devastation does not stop there. Vital natural resources are required to manufacture a brand new ink or laser cartridge. Up to 3.4 litres of crude oil go into manufacturing the plastic for a new laser cartridge whilst a new ink cartridge can use up to 100 ml of crude oil.

So what is the answer? Reuse your printer cartridges, reduce landfill and save.

Take your cartridges into a Cartridge World Store near you and ask how you can get them refilled. You not only save the environment but you also save money!

As a multinational company, The Wrigley Company has a long-standing commitment to environmental responsibility and leadership around the globe. We apply sound environmental practices throughout our business activities, with environmental consideration being an integral part of daily business.

The Wrigley Company has a long legacy of environmental conscientiousness. In 1933, in what may have been the first litter prevention campaign in the U.S., the company's second president Philip K. Wrigley began imprinting the advice to "use this wrapper to dispose of gum" on the label of every stick of gum manufactured. Today our packaging from around the world features either an illustration or wording describing the proper way to dispose of our product.
