A NEW IMAGE FOR CLEAN BEACH CHALLENGE- To be launched in 2010!

Our coastal award program, Clean Beach Challenge 2001-2009 will be relaunched in June 2010 as Clean Beaches. This revitalised coastal program is represented by a new logo, selected from a range of quality entries, through the Clean Beaches School Logo Design Competition 2009. The winner of this competition was Georgia Dyson, aged 9, from Clovelly Public School.

Georgia's logo design symbolises the interrelationship of the various coastal elements; water, sand, dunal systems, adjoining vegetation and community. Read Georgia's acceptance speech.

Clean Beaches supports and encourages projects which protect and enhance these environments and indicate a high level of community involvement and partnerships.

Clean Beaches is a fun competition, which aims to enhance beachside communities by promoting personal initiative, civic pride and environmental awareness. Through competition and awards, the program provides recognition to people who care for their community and coastal environment. Clean Beaches is a fantastic opportunity to network with other beachside communities who are proactively overcoming challenges for their local beach environments.
