Our Programs

From City, to Country, to Coast, and even to the Classroom, we've got a program for you!

Tidy Towns

Launched in 1981 Tidy Towns continues to be the largest practical environmental program serving regional New South Wales. Around 130 cities, towns, villages and schools throughout the state participate in the annual program. Awards are presented each year for the overall Tidiest Town and a number of sponsored awards recognising issues such as heritage, waste, habitat protection and business partnerships.

Sustainable Cities

Sustainable Cities recognises outstanding environmental initiatives implemented by local government authorities, schools and community groups whilst raising public awareness of a range of environmental issues affecting metropolitan NSW. The overall Sustainable Cities award is presented each year alongside a number of sponsored awards covering issues such as urban wildlife, waste and sustainable communities.

Clean Beaches

Have you noticed the new Clean Beaches logo and other exciting program changes? Along with this facelift comes the inspiration to connect communities along our coast. We are building a Clean Beaches Committee in your area and need a cross section of people from the community who can contribute diverse experiences and knowledge about their local environment to participate.

Waste Watchers

Since 1994 Waste Watchers has been a mobile environmental education program designed and developed by the passionate team of educators at Keep Australia Beautiful NSW.  Waste Watchers provides hands-on, enjoyable and interactive lessons to primary-school students throughout NSW.  The program teaches waste management, water and sustainability.

Graffiti Action Day

Graffiti action day is an initiative to tackle the widespread problem of graffiti in NSW. Keep Australia Beautiful NSW has teamed up with the NSW Government to stage Australia’s first Graffiti Action Day, which will see community members from all over the state volunteering to clean up their local area. This initiative will engage the community in the removal of graffiti, raise awareness of good graffiti removal methods, and support non-government and community run facilities in repairing damage caused by graffiti.
