Tidy Towns Awards Weedend coming up!!!

Do you want to learn from community representatives right across NSW about how to improve your home town?
Are you are interested in becoming part of the broader Tidy Towns community or perhaps you want to see last year’s Overall State Tidy Town Winner, Dorrigo first hand?
Then make sure you attend the Annual Tidy Towns Awards Weekend in Dorrigo from 31 October to 1 November!

Waste Watchers to visit Hornsby, Musswellbrook, Scone, and Bankstown regions

Waste Waters is a mobile education unit that visits schools to teach about responsible waste management and environmental care. Last year, Waste Watchers taught at 299 schools.
There are 4 different modules that schools can choose from:
- Wide World of Waste - Mechanics of Organics - Water Welfare - Catchment Chronicles |

Assessors visit Clean Beach Challenge beaches |

The Clean Beach Challenge was assessed by 8 assessors who visited the NSW coastline this month to determine which beaches would swim away with one of the Clean Beach Challenge awards.
In addition to the Department of Environment and Climate Change NSW Overall Clean Beach Award, beaches up and down the NSW coast will be awarded in the following categories:
- Remondis Waste Solutions Resource Recovery Award
- Energy Australia Friendly Beach Award
- Alcoa Litter Prevention Award
- Sydney Water Conservation Award
- Young Legends Award
- Community Partnership and Action Award
- Environmental Protection Award

Sustainable Garden Challenge Winners Announced! |

The Sustainable Garden Challenge Regional and State Winners have been announced with the Overall State Winner being Vaucluse Public School. State Winners were Vaulcuse Public School in the Schools Category, Bronwyn Dunn from Batemans Bay in the Individual Category, Guide Dogs Association ACT/NSW in the Community Category, and Bombala Council in the Council Category.
